Starlight Shopping and the Big Truck Parade

Mark your calendars for Friday, December 1, 2017.

5:00pm - THE BIG TRUCK PARADE

Sponsored by 97.3 the Eagle, and in part by the Campbell River Mirror, RBC, the Bank of Montreal, CIBC, Java Shack, Kicking Horse Coffee, Foggdukkers and Shoppers Drug Mart

It is always a  fabulous parade featuring cement trucks (how do they get the lit drum to turn!?), a tow trucks, a logging truck complete with huge logs, dump trucks, tractors, snow plows, trucks towing boats, trailers and low beds, fire trucks including the new pump truck maybe with Santa in the crane basket. Berry & Vale Contracting made the front page of the Mirror last year with their excavator on a flat bed.  The SD 72 school bus will be back with a new and exciting look and Spyk & Son Projects, all the way from Powell River - spectacular with a display of 40,000.00 lights!  The parade has become a Campbell River tradition.

WITH THE PARADE TRAVELLING ON HWY. 19A, A DETOUR WILL BE SET UP AND MANNED BY THE RCMP TO ENCOURAGE MOTORISTS TO SELECT EITHER ALDER ST. OR DOGWOOD ST.  THE DETOUR WILL HELP TO ALLEVIATE CONGESTION BY ROCKLAND ROAD AND MAKE FOR A SAFER PARADE ROUTE.  THIS OFFICER WILL LATER HELP LOOK AFTER THE CORNER OF 11TH AVE. AND SHOPPERS ROW; AGAIN, AN ADDED SAFETY FEATURE. THE THREE RCMP OFFICERS AND ROTARIANS PROVIDE AN EXEMPLARY JOB OF KEEPING EVERYBODY SAFE.
