Watch here for information about this year's event!

Mark your calendars for Friday, December 1, 2017.

The big event took place on Friday, December 2, 2016!!

5:00pm - THE BIG TRUCK PARADE

Sponsored by 97.3 the Eagle, and in part by the Campbell River Mirror, RBC, the Bank of Montreal, CIBC, HSBC. Java Shack, Foggdukkers and Shoppers Drug Mart

*The Big Truck Parade featured 48 entries this year!!  The day started out with wind and rain but by 1:00 the sun made an appearance and the day just became brighter.   Dry, with no wind - just what was ordered!!

It was a fabulous parade which featured a cement truck (how do they get the lit drum to turn!?), a tow truck, a logging truck complete with huge logs, dump trucks, tractors, snow plows, trucks towing boats, trailers and low beds, fire trucks including the new pump truck with Santa in the crane basket. Berry & Vale Contracting made the front page of the Mirror with their excavator on a flat bed.  The SD 72 school bus was back after a year's absence and Spyk & Son Projects, from Powell River, outdid themselves with a display of 40,000.00 lights.

WITH THE PARADE TRAVELLING ON HWY. 19A, A DETOUR SET UP AND MANNED BY THE RCMP ENCOURAGED MOTORISTS TO SELECT EITHER ALDER ST. OR DOGWOOD ST.  THE DETOUR WORKED REALLY WELL AND HELPED TO ALLEVIATE CONGESTION BY ROCKLAND ROAD AND MADE FOR A SAFER PARADE ROUTE.  THIS OFFICER LATER LOOKED AFTER THE CORNER OF 11TH AVE. AND SHOPPERS ROW; AGAIN, AN ADDED SAFETY FEATURE. THE RCMP(THREE OFFICERS) AND ROTARY(13 VOLUNTEERS) DID A EXEMPLARY JOB OF KEEPING EVERYBODy SAFE.
