5:00pm - THE BIG TRUCK PARADE - OUR BIGGEST YET WITH 60 TRUCKS!

Sponsored by 97.3 the Eagle, and in part by the Campbell River Mirror, RBC, the Bank of Montreal, CIBC, Java Shack, Kicking Horse Coffee, Foggdukkers, Lays Potato Chips and Shoppers Drug Mart

It was a wonderful parade featuring cement trucks (how do they get the lit drum to turn!?), a tow truck,  logging trucks complete with huge logs, dump trucks, tractors, snow plows, trucks towing boats, trailers and low beds, fire trucks including the new pump truck with Santa and the Elf in the crane basket.  The SD 72 school bus was back with a new and exciting look and Spyk & Son Projects, all the way from Powell River - spectacular with a display of 50,000.00 lights! Lots of new businesses joined us this year.  The parade has become a Campbell River Tradition.

WITH THE PARADE TRAVELLING ON HWY. 19A, A DETOUR WAS SET UP AND MANNED BY THE RCMP TO ENCOURAGE MOTORISTS TO SELECT EITHER ALDER ST. OR DOGWOOD ST.  THE DETOUR HELPED ALLEVIATE CONGESTION BY ROCKLAND ROAD AND MADE FOR A SAFER PARADE ROUTE. AS AN ADDED SAFETY FEATURE VOLUNTEERS HELPED LOOK AFTER THE CORNER OF 11TH AVE. AND SHOPPERS ROW. ROTARIANS AND THE RCMP DO AN EXEMPLARY JOB OF KEEPING EVERYBODY SAFE.
